BOOK REVIEW:
JESUS AND ME
Reviewed by: K. Harkleroad, Greeneville, TN
I bought this book in the local Christian Bookstore for a Bible Curriculum for my first grader. I didn't know how well it would work, but I bought it anyway. I am convinced this is an extremely foundational curriculum for any young child. It emphasizes scripture memory, has the child look up the Bible verses to answer questions, and activity sheets to reinforce what the child is learning. The only down side I can find, so far, is that the child learns the same memory verse for the whole month. It can get a little boring for the child if you don't make it exciting. But after each unit, four weeks, the child puts on a program for the family or whoever is available to perform in front of. The book is designed for more than one student, but I only have my first grader doing it by himself, we just tailor it to our size. Plus all the preparations are done for you. All you have to do is see what you are doing for that day and the child does the rest! It is great not only for busy moms/teachers, but it gives the children confidence in themselves because they have to do the research themselves! I recommend this book to anyone looking for a valuable, Bible curriculum.
